Due to continued growth, CIMA+ has immediate openings for Construction Inspectors based out of our Mississauga, Burlington, Kitchener, or Bowmanville offices. This position will provide the opportunity to join our innovative, supportive, and dynamic infrastructure and field services team. You will be working on a variety of infrastructure projects. Primary Responsibilities Engineering site inspection on municipal construction projects for quality control and adherence with applicable provincial standards, engineering design and technical specifications. Document construction site activities by keeping a detailed daily diary, taking photos, performing survey checks, and recording as-built conditions. Identify and monitor deficiencies. Provide problem resolution/field solutions with respect to unforeseen construction issues. Attend and participate in construction progress meetings. Review and comment on construction progress payment certificates and quotations. Arrange on-site geotechnical investigations and material testing for concrete, granular materials and asphalt. Coordinate with Engineering for specialist inspections. Ensure compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Act on construction sites with authority to issue stop work orders; ensure proper Ministry and project procedures are followed to ensure public/pedestrian safety. Liaise with clients, regulatory inspectors, various utility companies, residents, and other stakeholders as required. Undertake site inspection duties as required. Assist with preparation of contract documents and specifications. Qualifications 5 years or more of related experience in linear infrastructure and road reconstruction. Strong technical knowledge of micro tunnelling and other trenchless technologies. Positive attitude with superior interpersonal skills. Effective communicator possessing demonstrated skills in dealing with other staff, contractors, and the public, in matters arising from construction projects. MTO Class G drivers license in good standing and access to a personnel vehicle. Possess working knowledge of the Occupation Health and Safety Act and its Regulations, and Ontario Provincial Standards and Specifications (OPSS) for Municipal projects. Intermediate to advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite. Must be certified or eligible to be certified by either OACETT or PEO.
