Photographer Students'' Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) March 4, 2026. Posting closes Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at 4:00 pm (MST). Job Category: Parttime Term, up to 25 hours/week. Contract: July 2, 2026 April 30, 2027. Salary: $18.00/hour. Location: City Centre Campus (CCC). About SAMU The Students Association of MacEwan University (SAMU) is a nonprofit organization working independently from MacEwan University to support students. Our purpose is to enrich the student experience by focusing on their nonacademic needs through an array of studentdriven programs and services. Purpose This position is responsible for assisting the Marketing and Communications team to provide photography, photo editing, and multimedia for various projects. Summary of Responsibilities Photography and Photo Editing 90% Attend and provide photography for SAMU events and initiatives (event times and positions may vary, including off campus) working alongside the Videographer as needed Photograph student liferelated scenarios as assigned to build up SAMUs stock photo library Ensure that all photography follows the SAMU Brand Style Guide Work with the Creative Services Manager to develop shot lists for various photoshoots as assigned Work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator as needed for photography needs for website and social media Take individual and group portrait photography, using portable studio lighting Work with the Creative Services Manager to develop a consistent style and format of SAMU photos to align with the SAMU brand Edit photos using Adobe Photoshop/Lightroom and supply a catalogue of photos for use in marketing materials and social media Provide technical knowledge of cameras and the photography production process and arrange for rental, pick up, set up, tear down and return of any photorelated equipment needed for photo shoots Other Duties as Assigned 10% Work with SAMUs project management software to update tasks and communicate with other staff related to projects Brainstorm with the rest of the Marketing team to provide photography input into various projects Assist the Marketing Team with other tasks and duties as required Values Students First SAMU is here for the students. Education and Experience Preference will be given to current MacEwan Students registered in a minimum of one class during either Fall 2026 or Winter 2027 term. Enrolled in a Diploma/Degree program for Design, Communication, Fine Arts, or other related fields. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Strong Experience with Adobe Photoshop and/or Adobe Lightroom for photo editing. A strong understanding of photography fundamentals and photography equipment. Strong organization skills, attention to detail, and the ability to meet tight deadlines. Ability to adapt to various working conditions related to photography. Preferred Qualifications Experience in taking and editing photos in a variety of different settings. Working Considerations Sitting, kneeling Standing, walking Squatting, crouching Reaching hands above head Lifting up to 25 pounds (4.5 kilograms) climbing stairs Terms of Employment Up to 25 hours/week with office hours between 8:30am and 4:30pm. Will work around the student''s schedule. Some evening and weekend work may be required for this position.
