Your Opportunity Brooks Acute Care is a 28-bed unit providing care to Medical/Surgical/Obstetrical and Maternity patients received from the ER, Regional/Tertiary facilities and directly from home. This environment is suitable for a Registered Nurse who has recent medical, surgical and/or maternity experience. As a member of the CoAct team, the Registered Nurse provides safe and effective nursing care according to AHS policies and best practice standards. You will coordinate and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team, patients and families. You will utilize the nursing processes, critical thinking skills and problemsolving skills to coordinate care, teach, counsel and advocate on behalf of patients and families. You will observe, monitor, report, and document changes in the patients physical, mental, and emotional state. You will periodically assume charge nurse responsibilities once you are established on the unit and oriented to the role. It is the expectation the successful candidate will work in all areas of acute care, including labour and delivery, participate in MoreOB skill drills, workshops, exams, etc. and complete all required education in the allotted agreedupon time frame.
