Full-Time Contractually Limited Teaching Position: Anatomy McMaster University is home to some of the best minds and laboratories in the country and has a well deserved reputation as a hotbed of discovery and innovation. The Faculty of Health Sciences is unique as the only Canadian University that combines, in one Faculty, schools of medicine, nursing, rehabilitation sciences, midwifery programs, Bachelor of Health Sciences, physician assistant and postgraduate health sciences education. This is a specific initiative to train medical team members in a collaborative, interdisciplinary approach to developing effective and efficient health care. The School of Rehabilitation Science (SRS) is a leader in professional and research-focused education, offering programs in Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and SpeechLanguage Pathology, alongside innovative research programs (MSc and PhD), and an online masters program. Committed to interprofessional education and cuttingedge research, the SRS fosters collaboration, innovation, and excellence. Dedicated to transforming health care and rehabilitation sciences, the SRS explores the intersections of rehabilitation sciences; this is highlighted through the recently developed interdisciplinary Bachelor of Health Science (BHSc) program in Rehabilitation and Humanities. With a team of 31 fulltime faculty members, over 300 clinical/adjunct faculty, and numerous research staff, SRS creates a dynamic environment for teaching, research, and service. The Department of Pathology and Molecular Medicine (PMM) represents a unique integration of basic biomedical science and clinical medicine affiliated with the Hamilton Regional Laboratory Medicine Program (HRLMP). Several faculty hold prestigious research chairs and funding awards; it is an exciting and eventful period in medical research and education, and many in the Department are contributing to significant breakthroughs in their specific areas. Many PMM Faculty are educators in the Bachelor of Health Sciences and Undergraduate Medicine program and our Postgraduate Training Programs in Laboratory Medicine, considered among the best in Canada. Pay Transparency Statement The starting salary will not be less than $94,167, and will be determined based on rank, discipline, experience, and qualifications. The successful applicant will hold a PhD in anatomy, physiology, medical sciences or related field. Two or more years of postdoctoral (or equivalent) teaching experience in human anatomy, including prior gross dissection lab teaching and dissection experience, and education of rehabilitation science learners is strongly preferred. Experience teaching in a problembased, selfdirected curriculum would also be considered an asset. The position is for 36 months and it onsite at McMaster University; 35 hours per week.
