Role Responsibilities Reporting to the Manager of Performance and Risk Management, the Performance & Risk Advisor supports the Ministrys corporate planning, reporting and enterprise risk management functions. This role ensures the effective development, coordination, and reporting of legislated planning documents while enabling informed, consistent decision-making on departmentwide priorities. The advisor is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and publication of the ministrys Business Plan and Annual Report. This includes working across the department with subject matter experts in the identification and alignment of performance measures and outcomefocused targets. The incumbent is expected to research complex, sensitive issues and provide highquality briefing material, presentations, and reports to inform senior and executive management decision-making. The Advisor leads the Ministrys Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) process, including conducting semiannual risk reviews, maintaining and updating the corporate risk register, and preparing yearend risk reporting. The role ensures risk information is current, comprehensive, and aligned with organizational priorities. The successful candidate must be able to identify and interpret linkages between government strategic priorities and daytoday operations as well as proactively identify and troubleshoot issues related to the implementation of ministry planning and risk management processes. Qualifications Minimum Recruitment Standards University graduation in Public Administration, Business, Economics, Social Sciences (or a related field) plus 4 years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described below. Equivalency considered on the basis of: 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or 1 year of experience for 1 year of education. Assets Experience in strategic and business planning and reporting processes. Indepth knowledge of the Alberta health system and relevant legislation. Experience in performance and risk management frameworks within a public sector environment. Strong research and analysis experience, and proven ability to synthesize complex information into concise briefing materials, reports, and recommendations.
