The City of Thompson is accepting applications for the full-time position of Ice Plant Operator . Some of the duties include operating an ice resurfacer (Zamboni), flooding of ice and ice edger to carry out ice maintenance, observing and recording ice plant readings and maintaining or reporting any malfunctions, performing regular clean-up and maintenance of all recreation facilities, including community green spaces and other related duties as per the job description. Qualifications & Skills Grade 12 graduate or equivalent Possess a valid Class 5 MB Drivers License Ability to operate equipment associated with ice maintenance, i.e. ice resurfacer, ice edger. The incumbent will possess certification with Province of Manitoba as a Power Engineer Refrigeration Class through the Department of Labour (Refrigeration or 4th Class Power Engineer ticket as a minimum) We are also accepting Ice Facility operator qualifications in place of 4th Class Power Engineer ticket.
