Responsibilities Performs a central business solutions role, providing a key interface between CMBC business units, the TransLink BRT Program and Business Technology Services (BTS). Works collaboratively with CMBC senior leadership in establishing a vision for and planning deployment of new and updated ITS (Intelligent Transportation Systems) and Bus technologies, to promote and enable CMBC business goals, to ensure an appropriate level of service is provided, and to ensure these assets are properly operated and maintained. Participates in developing product roadmaps, establishing utilization synergies, and understanding business data and information requirements for CMBC. Acts as an agent for change and advancement, identifying ITS and Bus technology issues and concerns, and developing business cases to support operational and maintenance needs and ideas to multiple stakeholders. Key Accountabilities Acts as a champion for CMBC to ensure all needs are met while also meeting ITS and Bus technology strategic goals and objectives. Collaborates with various CMBC departments to establish a vision, assess systems and processes, identify problems, inefficiencies, and emerging needs, and assist in developing functional requirements for business solutions. Performs a central business solutions role, considering interdependencies and interactions between various departments for the successful implementation and operation of ITS and Bus technologies. Ensures that systems capabilities and business processes are fully leveraged to maximize efficiency, reduce cost, and effectively utilize resources. Determines pros and cons of various options and recommends viable business solutions, translating technical jargon to bridge the gap between ITS and Bus technology and CMBC with varying levels of technical comprehension. Monitors and pro-actively manages day-to-day challenges with ITS and Bus technology that reduce CMBCs ability to efficiently and effectively complete tasks. Manages the product lifecycle of ITS and Bus technology from CMBCs perspective and works closely with the TransLink BRT and BTS OTAP Programs to ensure short, medium, and long-term goals are budgeted for and met. Acts as a primary liaison between CMBC and the TransLink BRT program and BTS division, including OTAP, as it relates to ITS and bus technology. Manages productive relationships with key business stakeholders, vendors and consultants and internal staff to advance towards a common vision. Leads the preparation of reports, specifications, and documentation for ITS projects and support functions. Keeps abreast of new technologies and methodologies in response to the evolving nature of transportation systems and information technology. Supervises and provides leadership to direct reports, including training, selection, performance management and all other aspects of people management. Qualifications The requirements for this job are acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline such as Business Administration, Management, Computer Science, or a related field of study plus seven (7) years of relevant technical/business experience, including 2 years of asset management experience and a proven track record of success providing customer service and managing products in a large, complex, multi-disciplinary organization. Other Requirements Advanced knowledge of the theories, concepts, principles and practices of business process, account, product and asset management. Solid and holistic understanding of the business, particularly operations and maintenance, to understand, optimize and support the utilization of ITS and Bus technology solutions through all the product lifecycle stages: Plan, Acquire, Use, Maintain, and Dispose. Strong technical knowledge of ITS and bus applications, including traffic signal systems, variable message signs, and adaptive traffic control systems, to effectively communicate business needs with technical resources during troubleshooting and development. Solid knowledge of business technology in terms of technology-based solutions and systems capabilities. Sound knowledge of contract administration and vendor management. Advanced verbal and written communication skills, including presentations and strategy documents. Advanced skills in options analysis, cost/benefit analysis and business case development. Strong interpersonal skills including negotiation, facilitation, and a strong ability to influence and persuade, to facilitate the achievement of integrated business solutions for multiple business units. Advanced leadership skills to lead initiatives, including those involving enterprise-wide implementation. Work Designation Hybrid This position offers the flexibility of working both on-site and remotely within B.C. Rate of Pay The salary for this position ranges from $100,080 - $150,120 per annum. Actual salary offered will be based on education, experience, skills, and qualifications as they relate to the role.
