The Student Nutrition Program (SNP) provides access to nutritious meals and snacks so children and youth are ready to learn and succeed in school. The Student Nutrition Food & Logistics Coordinator supports efficient regional sourcing, purchasing coordination, and distribution by developing and maintaining relationships with distributors, vendors, and approved Ontario farms, and by coordinating logistics in partnership with Community Partners across Central West Ontario. Programs and Community Partners retain autonomy over sitelevel procurement decisions. What you will do Regional sourcing, purchasing, and vendor partnerships Onboard, develop, coordinate with, and maintain relationships with distributors, vendors, and SNO Central Westapproved farms. Facilitate bulk and wholesale orders, negotiate pricing, support product aggregation, and secure food donations and inkind support. Donations, funding tracking, and campaign support Track and facilitate the arrival, velocity data collection, delivery coordination, and invoicing of donations across Community Partners. Request, collect, track, and distribute food resources to Community Partners, including product rebates, grocery cards, vouchers, coupons and other supports. Monitor and confirm foodrelated funding allocations with Community partners and maintain funding allocations with Community Partners for any shared campaigns. Reporting responsibilities for funding provided. Logistics coordination and distribution support Support efficient sourcing and distribution by leveraging food hub infrastructure, local food system infrastructure, and existing distribution channels. Compliance, food safety, and public health collaboration Track food recalls, and new product evaluations and notify Community Partners of updates and requirements. Training, communication, and engagement Support communications and training primarily through Community Partners, delivering direct sessions to schools by invitation or request. Support community engagement and communications virtually and through inperson meetings. Other Travel as needed for vendor and partner meetings, using virtual coordination first where practical. Escalate novel or complex issues (for example, multiyear MOUs or structural changes) to the Supervisor. Perform other duties as assigned in support of SNP operations. What you will bring Education and training Postsecondary education in dietetics, food systems, foodservice, supply chain, agriculture economics, or a related field is an asset. Knowledge of food safety and traceability practices, including HACCP principles. Knowledge of Health and Safety and food handling practices, including sanitation and maintenance regulations. Experience and skills Experience in procurement, vendor management, logistics coordination, and donation or inventory flowthrough processes is an asset. Strong negotiation, relationshipbuilding, and stakeholder coordination skills. Strong planning, organization, time management, and attention to detail. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel. This role requires regular travel across the region, which may not always be easily accessible through public transit. The employee must be able to arrange their own transportation to these sites. A valid G drivers license and fulltime vehicle access are strongly recommended.
