Girls MultiSport Camp: Up to 80 hours biweekly - Monday through Friday, 8:15 am - 4:15 pm, July 610, July 2024 and August 1721. Presummer, some paid lesson planning and training time will be expected, including a departmentspecific inservice Saturday, May 30th and an allcamp staff inservice Saturday, June 6. Summary This position is responsible for the implementation and delivery of active and engaging multisport day camp programming for schoolage children. Planning, preparing and leading a variety of indoor and outdoor sport and physical activities, the successful applicant will have a positive impact on the children and families involved, and be an important member of the Panorama Recreation team. The incumbent will ensure children are engaged and provided with developmentally and ageappropriate programming, while ensuring participant safety and wellbeing throughout. Key Duties & Responsibilities Delivers safe, successful, healthy and enjoyable sport and physical activity programming for schoolage children. Completes program activity planning, within an assigned budget planning activities that are meaningful, engaging, and developmentally and ageappropriate; including sports, cooperative games and other sportinspired camp activities. Daily preparation of program space, along with preparation and execution of planned activities. Ensures equipment and program spaces are safe and sanitary before and after each program session. Provides learning and guidance to participants on appropriate behaviour during play and activities. Escorts participants to offsite activities on foot or, if appropriately licensed, as driver of a 24passenger bus. Works collaboratively with a Day Camp Assistant(s) and Day Camp Inclusion Assistant(s). Delivers care and support with behaviour management, inclusion, first aid and other areas relating to caring for children. Acts as a liaison between the general public and CRD; providing good customer service and clear communication with parents and caregivers. Follows all policies, procedures and standards of the CRD. Performs other related duties as required. Additional Information Some paid planning, training and development time will be scheduled presummer. Attendance of training and development sessions will be mandatory. Key Skills & Abilities Experience leading and activity planning recreational programs for schoolage children. Leadership abilities, including role model behaviours, along with the ability to demonstrate sound judgement while creating a positive, enthusiastic, safe and fun program environment. Excellent verbal and written communications, interpersonal and customer service skills. Qualifications Some directly related experience. Certifications Acceptable criminal record check. Emergency First Aid and CPR-C. National Coaching Certification Program Level 1 (or equivalent).
