The SEEDs mission to run programs and social enterprises that increase physical and financial access to nutritious food among people facing food insecurity. Brief Description: The SEED is a community food project of the Guelph Community Health Centre. About 23% of households in Guelph are food insecure. The SEEDs goal is to change that by offering programs and services that tackle the root causes of poverty. We are supported by hundreds of amazing community members and by many partner organizations. About The SEEDs Warehouse and Delivery work: The SEED Community Food Warehouse supports many community organizations. We receive and store a combination of orders placed through SEED Wholesale and the surplus food we actively seek out. We then deliver to many organizations, or hold it for others to pick up. The intention of this work is to increase the amount of food partner agencies are able to offer their guests. In 2025 The SEED moved $2.2 million worth of donated food. Core Job Duties: Works with SEED Manager on operations and strategy for Grocery and Market programs Supervises Grocery Pack Lead and Market Lead, ensuring cross-training for coverage Manages third party youth placements, including check-ins and agreements Places supplier orders, attends Elmira auction, and sources new supply chains Oversees inventory, with support from Grocery and Market Leads Exports and arranges weekly grocery orders Designs, layout and dcor for markets and investigates new opportunities for booth spaces and payments Maintains up to date records for GFTS and Market Budgets Ensure KPI dashboard is current Present SEEDs work to partners and community tables Support grant writing and overall fundraising strategy Contribute to food justice and food sovereignty advocacy at the agency level Lead monthly grocery check in, managing routing for FFRx and bulk partner deliveries Qualifications University degree or college diploma in Food policy or process, social work, community health, or related field, or equivalent experience 35 years experience in community-based food and/or healthcare work Understanding of food insecurity - causes, effects and impact within the Guelph-Wellington Community Valid G Driver''s license and access to a reliable vehicle Experience working with culturally, economically, and socially diverse populations Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of an interdisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication skills; additional languages are an asset Commitment to anti-racist, trauma-informed, and equity-based approaches to care Able to lift up to 50lbs consistently A working understanding of Excel and Word software Customer service skills We know that experience comes in many forms.
