Cochrane Public Library (CPL) is seeking an organized, detail-oriented, and highlydependable Leadership Assistant to support the librarys leadership team and CPLs day-to-day administrative operations. Reporting to the Accounting & HR Manager, the Leadership Assistant is responsible for bookkeeping, maintaining accurate financial and operational records, and providing essential administrative support that helps keep the library running smoothly behind the scenes. As a newly created role, this position offers the opportunity to help shape processes as they are established and refined. What we offer: Compensation: starting at $25.69 per hour Employee Health Spending Account Paid vacation and sick time Major Duties & Responsibilities: Accounting Administration Perform accurate monthly bookkeeping, including transaction entry and reconciliations Support accounts payable and invoice processing Compile and reconcile bank deposits and track petty cash Maintain complete and organized financial records in accordance with policies and best practices Perform other accounting-related duties as assigned General Administration Manage incoming and outgoing mail Monitor inventory of supplies and manage orders, deliveries and pickups Communicate with facilities regarding maintenance questions or issues Collect, compile, and report operational data as needed Support the Library Director with Board meeting preparation Perform other related duties as assigned Education & Experience: Office Administration certification (or an equivalent combination of education and experience) Minimum 1-2 years experience in an administrative role Experience supporting leadership and/or bookkeeping is considered an asset Skills & Abilities: Maintain a high level of discretion and confidentiality Communicate clearly and professionally, both in writing and verbally Adapt to and learn in a dynamic environment Work collaboratively and independently Demonstrate strong organizational skills and attention to detail Technologically proficient, including Microsoft Office Suite; experience with computerized bookkeeping experience is an asset Additional Requirements: Valid drivers licence and access to a personal vehicle for work duties, with the ability to meet insurance requirements Fluency in verbal and written English Satisfactory Police Information Check Physical Requirements: Lift and move materials up to 10kg (22 lbs) Frequent bending, squatting, kneeling, and reaching above shoulder height Prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and computer use Repetitive hand and wrist movements Sustained visual concentration and attention to detail Schedule: Part-Time (24 hours/week): Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, 9:00am-5:00pm To be determined To Apply: Please apply via email to and make sure to include your resume and a cover letter explaining why you would be a great fit for this position at Cochrane Public Library.
