Want to be a part of this exciting time? What Youll Actually Be Doing Conduct foot, bike, and vehicle patrols of parks, pathways, neighbourhoods, and other areas throughout the municipality. Education and enforcement of municipal bylaws. Investigate complaints to ascertain validity, report infractions to a Town Peace Officer, issue warnings, and assist with the issuance and delivery of tickets. Prepares investigative reports, legal documents, court information, and testify in court, when required. Maintain constructive relationships with both internal and external customers, utilizing concepts of public awareness and education. Undergo necessary in-house training (theory and in-field) and receive additional support via a Community Peace Officer mentor. Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Required Enrolled in a Law Enforcement Justice program and/or equivalent. Comfortable working with animals. Comfortable working in inclement weather and outdoor conditions. Clean Criminal Record and Vulnerable Sector Check. Conflict resolution and deescalation. Ability to exercise good judgment and make proper and fair decisions under difficult circumstances. Ability to manage unpredictable settings and situations. Self-motivated, with strong organizational skills. Ability to work independently and within a team environment. Computer competency in Microsoft Office or other municipal software programs. Ability to work full-time hours (30-40 hours per week). Shifts will cover weekdays, weekends, and evenings (as required). Certifications, Licenses and/or Designations Enrolled in a Law Enforcement Justice program and/or equivalent. Requires a valid Class 5 Drivers License. First Aid and CPR/AED Level C.
