About the Role We are currently looking for a Senior Systems Administrator (Hybrid Azure / OnPrem Windows Server) to fill a vacancy and join our IT team. Reporting to the Supervisor, Infrastructure & Security, this role operates with broad autonomy and is accountable for the stability, security, and longterm technical direction of the organizations core infrastructure platforms. What You Will Do: Research, evaluate, and architect Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI) solutions alongside onpremises HyperV clusters for highavailability virtualization in a new data center deployment. Serve as the internal owner and escalation authority for third party SOC247 threat detection, investigation, guided remediation, and incident response. Own and define security best practices, conduct regular audits, apply patches (WSUS/server firmware/OS/workstation software), and harden servers, networks, and endpoints. Design, deploy, secure, and optimize Azure resources, including virtual machines (IaaS), SaaS/PaaS services, identity (EntraID hybrid), networking, and security features (e.g., Defender/ATP). Manage, monitor, and maintain onpremises Microsoft infrastructure, including Active Directory, Exchange (onprem/hybrid), Windows Servers (20122022), MSSQL databases, and RDS environments with published RemoteApp applications and Connection Broker. Monitor system performance, capacity, and health across hybrid environments; proactively troubleshoot and resolve incidents to maintain uptime and reliability. Configure and manage core networking infrastructure, including switches (HPE/Aruba), firewalls (SonicWall), VLANs, and hybrid connectivity to Azure. Administer multisite backup and disaster recovery operations using Veeam Backup & Replication, ensuring 321 backups, replication, and cloud offsite storage/validation. Deliver Tier2/3 technical support for escalated issues, as the technical authority for hybrid infrastructure standards, patterns and operational practices across the organization, and mentor Tier1 Desktop support staff. Perform additional duties as assigned by IT and business leadership, including project work, vendor coordination, and emerging technology evaluations. What You Need to Succeed: Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or equivalent experience) 10+ years in OnPrem Systems/Server Administration CompTIA Server+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Hybrid Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate Handson experience building a HyperV in production environments, HPE SAN Handling connections published remote applications with RDS App farms Proven experience with disaster recovery planning in multisite environments. This position offers a minimum starting salary of $72,200, with potential compensation enhancements based on applicable experience and qualifications. Please note, this role requires the participation in oncall rotation to provide afterhours production support.
