POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general supervision of the Supervisor Initiatives, Marketing & Community Support, is responsible for the coordination and development of Divisional branding, marketing and advertising opportunities that support the goals of the Recreation & Culture Division, the Joint Advertising Committee (The Key), and the PRO Kids Board. Serves as a subject matter expert to Division staff, providing leadership, advice and support for development of promotional materials and strategies that support Division and Section communications plans. Acts as a liaison between the Division and external parties for advertising opportunities and prepares revenue-generating advertising strategies. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES Promotes awareness and strengthens the reputation of Divisional services with the general public, partners and visitors through developing and implementing Division branding and promotional strategies. Provides guidance to Division staff on promotional materials and strategies; develops objectives and prepares content for divisional and PRO Kids promotional materials. Monitors and maintains the Divisions digital presence, including websites, social media, the Key website and PRO Kids digital presence. Provides leadership to the Joint Advertising Committee (external agencies) and PRO Kids Communications, Marketing & Campaigns Sub-Committee in the implementation of digital advertising opportunities and other marketing efforts. Coordinates the creation and promotion of Divisional advertising opportunity packages to generate revenue and engage internal and external advertisers in the Divisions facilities and publications, including undertaking related research to develop pricing recommendations. Coordinates the sale of advertising opportunities and acts as a liaison between the Division and external groups, securing new clients, maintaining existing clients, and promoting The Key and other Divisional advertising opportunities (e.g. Digital screens in recreational facilities) Supports public engagement efforts for Divisional initiatives, including PRO Kids fundraising initiatives. Coordinates the audit and implementation of Divisional priorities within the Citys Digital Strategy, in relation to improving user/public experience and communications. Prepares and administers budgets for The Key and other digital revenue-generating projects; monitors all expenditures and revenues; develops a pricing strategy to ensure cost recovery and/or net revenue. Prepares effective communications of Divisional key performance indicators and develops reports and newsletters for target audiences (e.g. Council, staff, funders, boards and committees, general public). Performs such other related duties as may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education/Experience Degree in business, communications, marketing/advertising or related field; such as journalism or public relations, with one (1) year directly related experience; or Diploma in business, communications, marketing/advertising or related field; such as journalism or public relations, with two (2) years directly related experience Demonstrated experience in communications, marketing and website maintenance. Demonstrated experience in advertising and advertising sales. Skills/Abilities Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, and have superior writing and editing skills; Must have good customer service and communication skills and be courteous and tactful in dealing with the public; Must have an excellent understanding of effective marketing strategies; Must have a strong understanding of graphic design, print production fundamentals and social media and trends; Ability to summarize large amounts of data/information into accessible, reader-friendly materials; Ability to analyse and understand financial implications of proposals and the ability to perform some cost calculations and respond accordingly.
