Job Description

Job Type and Location Full-Time; Primary Office Location: Listowel. This position will require some shared time between Listowel and Granton, Ontario for training purposes. Overview Avonbank is a leading agricultural dealership specializing in facility design, installation, and services for the dairy industry. Key Responsibilities - Financial Planning and Analysis: Develop and oversee the companys financial planning processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. - Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyze accurate and timely financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. Work closely with external accountants to generate review engagement year-end financial statements. - Accounting: Prepare monthly adjusting entries in the companys ERP system, Spire, including labour allocations, inventory release, accruals, intercompany, amortization, etc. - Cash Flow Management: Monitor and manage cash flow to optimize liquidity and support business operations. Manage ongoing relationship with Avonbanks banking partner. - Internal Controls: Implement and maintain effective internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure financial accuracy. - Tax Compliance: Work closely with external tax advisors to ensure compliance with all relevant tax regulations and optimize the companys tax position. - Financial Systems Management: Oversee and enhance financial systems to streamline processes and improve efficiency. - Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. - Collaboration: Work closely with the Owner, Managers, and team members across departments to provide meaningful financial insights and contribute to effective decision-making. Qualifications - Bachelors degree in finance, accounting, or related field; CPA designation is highly preferred. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial leadership role, preferably within the agriculture or related industries. - Strong knowledge of financial management principles, accounting standards, and taxation. - Proven experience in financial planning, analysis, and reporting. - Excellent leadership and communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization. - Proficient in Excel and ERP systems. Experience with Spire Systems Inc. accounting business management software is considered an asset. - Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
