Job Description

JLP Services Inc. is currently seeking an 'local' intermediate Geotechnical Engineer. JLP currently provides a range of Geotechnical Services, including but not limited to: Investigation, Materials Testing and Inspection, Instrumentation and Monitoring, Shoring Excavation and Monitoring and Foundation Recommendations. Please note that position requires a minimum of 7 to 10 years of local southwestern Ontario experience. This requirement is nonnegotiable. Role Responsibilities: - Performing construction site reconnaissance, observations, and inspections (e.g., footing inspections, subgrade inspection, retaining wall inspection). - Reviewing soil and rock samples in our laboratory, coordinating geotechnical laboratory testing, and compiling test results and borehole logs. - Analyzing and modeling slope stability, settlement, foundation design, soil retaining structures, and other geotechnical challenges. - Preparation of Geotechnical Investigation Reports, Technical Memos, Scope of Work - Client Communication and business development. - Training and mentorship of junior employees. Qualifications: - P.Eng. designation - CCIL Certifications Skills: - Exceptional interpersonal, organizational and critical thinking skills - Excellent oral and written communication skills, including technical writing ability. - An understanding of materials testing and inspection, road reconstruction, rebar inspection and general construction practices. - Proficiency in AutoCad, gINT, Slide, AqteSolv MS Office and AutoCAD (preferred).
