(TDC) is a joint venture between the Tsuutina Nation and Canderel, a leading Canadian real estate company. The Nation is home to 2400 community members and adjacent to the southwest quadrant of the City of Calgary, Alberta. Governed by a Board of Directors, the TDC team will oversee the development of three distinct yet interconnected villages Buffalo Run, Taza Park, and The Crossing. Over the next 25+ years, this 1200-acre community development project will bring significant social and economic prosperity to the region and elevate Tsuutina Nation as a key player in the real estate landscape. Job Title: Senior Development Manager Reports to: VP Land Development Summary: Taza Development Corp. is seeking an experience Senior Development Manager to oversee the development on 1,200 acres or land owned by the Tsuu Tina Nation. They are expected to champion the oversight of day-to-day construction, supervision of contractors in accordance with budgets and scheduled timelines. The Senior Development Manager is a key resource for the entire development team in order to deliver on an exceptional end product in a world class development. Responsibilities: - Lead a team of engineers, architects, and construction professionals to design and service land phases while achieving key project milestones - W ork closely with the Taza team to steer projects through all stages of development, ensuring a strategic approach for delivery - Leverage knowledge of construction methodologies, management procedures, and teams to achieve best results - Seek opportunities to increase Tsuutina and First Nation participation and awareness - Identify and promote sustainability initiatives, coordinate certification applications, and ensure ESG project goals are achieved - Manage tender process ensuring highest value is achieved over a broad criterion of metrics while supporting on going contract management initiatives - Monitor construction schedule, adjust as needed for change orders, prepare cash flow projections, conduct progress inspections , ensure quality of work, negotiate claims, and approve consultants and contractors invoices - Coordinate with the Finance and Administration team to ens ure project budgets are updated and r eporting is submitted in a timely manner - Contribute to recruitment process including participating in interviews and supporting onboarding of new employees - W ork collaboratively to foster a culture of excellence and inclusion that will attract, retain , develop, and motivate qualified and engaged employees Qualifications and Education : - CET with minimum 10 years experience or bachelors degree with 6 years experience in a closely related field . Work experience within a First Nation community will be considered an asset - Demonstrated a bility to negotiate costs, set timelines and monitor quality of work while managing relationships with stakeholders, contractors and consultants - Strong k nowledge of tendering, procurement procedures, construction administration , construction management , horizontal infrastructure design and construction industry practices - Excellent written, verbal and computer skills including a strong working knowledge of MS Office programs ( Word, Excel and Project) Adobe , Bluebeam , and the ability to adapt to other software programs as required - Superb organisational skills complemented by a continuous improvement mindset ; demonstrated project and time management skills - A team player that can work in an entrepreneurial environment and balance changing priorities, meeting deadlines and take direction from multiple sources - Strong attention to detail and adherence to standards with a track record of actively checking for accuracy - Tsuutina citizens and Indigenous candidates are encouraged to apply - Preference will be given to those who have experience and can demonstrate an understanding of First Nations culture and practices Taza Development Corporation and Canderel are equal opportunity employers.
