Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa Digby, NS Job Overview Digby Pines Golf Resort and Spa is seeking a dependable and professional overnight Security Officer to help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for our guests and employees. Working as part of the Guest Services team, this role combines security responsibilities with hospitality awareness. The Security Officer conducts regular property patrols, responds to incidents or guest concerns, and helps ensure the resort operates safely during overnight hours. The ideal candidate is observant, calm under pressure, and committed to both safety and guest service. Responsibilities - Conduct regular patrols of guest floors, public areas, parking areas, and exterior grounds. - Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment. - Respond to guest concerns, disturbances, or safety incidents in a professional manner. - Assist with emergency situations including medical incidents, fire alarms, or security concerns. - Provide escorts for guests or employees when requested. - Document incidents, observations, and unusual activity through clear nightly reports and logs. - Identify potential safety hazards or maintenance concerns and report them appropriately. - Maintain a visible and reassuring presence throughout the property overnight. Requirements - Must possess a valid Nova Scotia Private Guard License at the time of hire. - Valid First Aid / CPR certification. - Previous experience in security, law enforcement, hospitality, or a related field preferred. - Strong observation, communication, and conflict resolution skills. - Ability to remain calm and professional in highpressure situations. - Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. Job Type: Part-time Pay: $18.00 per hour Expected Hours: Up to approximately 22.5 hours per week, with the possibility of additional hours or transition to fulltime as operational needs evolve.
