Overview Position: Registered Nurse Competition: 2025-263 Status: Full-Time Department: Women & Child / Surgical Unit Union: ONA Salary: $39.07-$56.00 / Hour Responsibilities - Provide quality nursing care to a patient or group of patients under the supervision of the Department Manager and coordination of the Team Lead, in accordance with the Standards of Nursing Practice (CNO) and unit standards. - Maintain competence and skills through ongoing continuing education and demonstrate proof of participation; actively participate in the CNO Quality Assurance Program. - Participate in service and hospital-wide activities and programs that model and promote a safe, patient-centered environment and contribute to quality improvement and risk management. Education and Experience - Registered Nurse (BScN) and current member in good standing of the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO). - 2 years of Caseroom and post-partum experience required. - Minimum Medical/Surgical Nursing experience required. - IV and BCLS certification required and maintained. - Previous obstetrical experience in labor and delivery unit, and experience in Newborn Nursery. - Case Room Training and recent birthing RN experience within the last 12 months. - Current First Aid/Health and Safety Leadership (F.H.S.L.), NRP and BCLS and maintained throughout employment. - ACLS certification preferred. - Computer literacy mandatory. - Teaching experience would be an asset. - Successful completion of an approved Medications Administration Course consistent with the Standards of the College of Nurses of Ontario; able to demonstrate recent experience in medication administration. Knowledge and Skills - Demonstrated competence in nursing practice as a Registered Nurse. - Able to work a variety of shifts and be on call as required. - Excellent demonstrated medical-surgical patient teaching skills. - Demonstrated Medical-Surgical Nursing knowledge. - Strong interpersonal, assessment and organizational skills. - Demonstrated flexibility, creativity, and ability to prioritize. - Demonstrated customer service focus and ability to relate in a tactful and sensitive manner with staff, patients, and the public. - Ability to organize work tasks and function both independently and collaboratively as a team member. - Demonstrated ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions. - Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced environment. - Ability to accept direction and feedback. - Competence in computers and other job-related technology. - Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular and consistent basis is required. - Good attendance and availability required. #J-18808-Ljbffr
