About the Position The School of Public Health invites applications for a tenuretrack Assistant Professor position in Epidemiology. We are seeking an exceptional scholar whose work strengthens epidemiologic research and contributes to evidencebased public health science, policy, and practice. The successful candidate will have a record of accomplishment, normally including postdoctoral training, publication of primary research articles in relevant peerreviewed journals, success in gaining competitive external grants, experience in classroom teaching, and the ability to mentor research trainees effectively. Teaching responsibilities will include undergraduate and/or graduatelevel epidemiology and methods courses, and other public health courses, with opportunities to contribute to the proposed Bachelor of Health Science program. More specifically, the successful candidate is expected to establish a nationally competitive research program and will pursue triagency funding (CIHR, NSERC, SSHRC, PHAC) within the first year of appointment. The successful candidate will develop a rigorous, impactful research program that aligns with the University of Albertas Strategic Plan, Shape; contributes to the Universitys Strategic Research Plan, Forward with Purpose; and aligns with the Schools Strategic Plans Areas of Excellence in: - Health Equity and Population Health: Focusing on Indigenous, Northern, and communityengaged work with equitydeserving groups. - Planetary Health: Focusing on connections between human and animal health, climate, environment, and ecosystems. - Methodological Excellence and Data Science Innovation: Focusing on quantitative methods, qualitative methods, evaluation, epidemiology, biostatistics, and ethical data use. - Public Health Systems Leadership: Focusing on public health system design, policies, and practices.
