Key Responsibilities Menu Development - Lead the menu steering and development process from concept to execution. Create menu items and Bills of Materials (BoMs) in ERP and nutritional analysis systems, ensuring accuracy and operational readiness. Develop and manage project plans that coordinate crossfunctional teams to deliver menus on time and in full. - Proactively source and evaluate new meals and snacks in collaboration with Nutritional Services, Purchasing, and Quality Assurance teams. Review ingredient specifications and new products to confirm compliance with regulatory requirements. Support achievement of leadership menu objectives including innovation targets, food cost controls, and overall menu performance. - Manage menu substitutions and oversee communication of onetime and permanent changes. Maintain portion guides, allergen documentation, and supporting menu materials. Allergen Management - Serve as the internal expert on allergen processes and item management within Wholesome technology systems. Source and assess allergen alternatives that closely replicate main meals while ensuring nutritional quality and variety. Map replacement options and maintain consistency across menus. - Complete daily allergen workflows, assign allergen substitutions to children, and develop allergen solutions during menu planning. Train team members on allergen system processes to ensure continuity during peak periods. Customer Engagement & Experience - Partner with Customer Care to respond to allergenspecific parent inquiries. Participate in customer events and occasional site visits to remain connected to family needs and feedback, ensuring continuous improvement in service delivery. Regulatory, Documentation & Quality Support - Maintain organized supplier and product documentation including ingredient specifications, allergen statements, and nutrition data. Ensure records are auditready and support internal QA processes and regulatory compliance. Innovation & Industry Insight - Contribute to semiannual innovation reporting and recommend improvements that strengthen Wholesomes Every Child Eats differentiator. Attend industry events and tradeshows to stay current on food, allergen, and nutrition trends. Qualifications - Degree in Nutrition, Food Science, Food Technology, or related discipline (Registered Dietitian preferred). Minimum two years of experience in menu or food product development, allergen management, and ERP/database environments. Working knowledge of Canadian food labelling and regulatory requirements is preferred. - Strong communication skills and intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP platforms, and nutritional or recipe management software are required.
