Overview Are you an experienced farm vet looking to take your career to the next level? This role offers the chance to join a friendly, supportive team dedicated to progressive farm veterinary practice in the Cornish countryside, with a strong emphasis on worklife balance. The practice serves a diverse range of clients, is involved in local and national initiatives, and provides varied, impactful work. The successful candidate will be part of a small, farm-only team supported by ATTs and vet techs, and will have the opportunity to explore and develop areas of interest in dairy, beef, and sheep farming. TB testing is kept to a minimum with the help of our ATTs, allowing you to focus on clinical work. Responsibilities - Provide farm veterinary services across dairy, beef, and sheep farms. - Work as part of a small, farm-only team with support from ATTs and vet techs. - Engage with local and national initiatives to ensure varied and impactful work. - Contribute to the practices TB testing strategy in collaboration with ATTs to minimize routine testing where appropriate. - Participate in the on-call rota and provide after-hours coverage as configured by the rota (approximately 1:10 on-call duties for 10 months of the year). Benefits and Working Arrangements - Typical working hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, with a night on call and a full day of TOIL for a weekend. - Dedicated OOH vet to help manage the rota and make it more manageable. - Generous holiday allowance with the option to buy or sell additional holidays (6.6 weeks including bank holidays). - CPD allowance of 1,750 for vets and 2,500 for advanced qualifications. - After probation, free membership at a local Country Club, health and wellbeing support, and discounted shopping/days out. - RCVS membership paid, two other memberships, VDS cover, enhanced family leave, discounted veterinary fees, and additional perks. - Salary range: 35,000 to 40,000 depending on experience. Qualifications - Experienced farm veterinarian with a record of delivering high-quality clinical care on dairy, beef, and sheep farms. - Willingness to engage with local and national veterinary initiatives and to work within a supportive team structure.
