Responsibilities Prepares work plans to be scheduled by the Maintenance department to support the delivery of effective maintenance practices, including the effective use of labour, minimizing equipment down time, validating parts inventory, and avoiding conflicting facility and labour requirements. Develops and supports the implementation of daily maintenance work plans. Prepares and reviews daily work orders and maintenance records with the Maintenance Department and compares to the daily maintenance work plans. Analyzes work orders and maintenance records to further develop the maintenance planning system. Plans and tracks special and regulatory maintenance or upgrading tasks into regular maintenance work plan and analyses maintenance and life cycle costs to prepare repair/replacement recommendations. Using computer systems and databases to prepare and schedule preventive maintenance inspection reports based on the number of kilometres, hours or days each asset has travelled or the need to overhaul specific items such as transmission, engine, etc. Analysing fleet management data collection systems information to determine future maintenance requirements of assets and preparing reports as required. Developing and proposing long term maintenance practices that focus on improved utilization of asset, assemblies, parts, facilities, and labour. Determining facilities, labour, resources, and parts required to perform the maintenance tasks. Preparing cost benefit analyses of maintenance requirements to assist the Maintenance Manager in repair versus buy analysis. Performing analyses and preparing reports to assist in development of scheduling system policies, etc. Preparing maintenance work plans for approval by the Maintenance Manager. Analyzing daily maintenance requirements and preparing daily maintenance work plans according to maintenance priorities and availability of facilities, labour resources and replacement parts. Monitoring the completion of inspections and maintenance work plans. Maintaining and updating computerized maintenance records. Providing support to the Maintenance leadership and maintenance team to assist in ensuring the daily maintenance work plans and work orders are accurately completed and that maintenance work plans are followed in an effective manner. Reviewing daily work orders for completeness; monitoring time sheets to ensure time is being charged to correct work order; checking work orders to ensure completeness and accurate coding; ensuring data is entered into system prior to closing to maintain integrity. Assisting in refining preventive and predictive maintenance procedures; assisting in development of life cycle cost analysis and repair and replacement recommendations; assisting in the development and implementation of standard work orders. Schedules and tracks Fleet Campaigns or Fleet Projects into regular maintenance work plans with the Maintenance department. Performs related duties as assigned, such as items of a minor nature that do not affect the value of the job. Education High school graduation plus holds a BC or Interprovincial automotive or heavyduty mechanic trade TQ or diploma in mechanical engineering, together with courses in maintenance planning and scheduling, and advanced in the use of documents and spreadsheet like MS Office (Word and Excel) and Computer Maintenance Management System software. Qualifications Valid Class5 BC Drivers License required. Experience Minimum four (4) years recent related experience in fleet maintenance planning, regulatory requirements, including exposure to detailed knowledge of fleet maintenance scheduling systems, material lists, job tasks/instructions and life cycle costing. Coupled with complex maintenance or mechanical analytics experience together with demonstrated skills and knowledge of maintenance planning processes and procedures. A further period of up to one (1) year is required in the position to become familiar with CMBC maintenance planning procedures and systems. Other Information Recruitment Process: An applicant will be required to demonstrate their suitability for this position by meeting the minimum level of qualifications and experience in order to be invited into the selection process. A standard interview format will be used including general, scenario and behavioural descriptive interview questions. Work Schedule 37.5 hours per week. Work Designation Resident. This position works predominately onsite. Rate of Pay Salary $7,556 - $9,062 per month (Actual salary offered will be commensurate with education, experience and internal parity).
