Proposal Mechanical Engineer Turbine (Hydropower) Job family: Project & Site Management Business area: Hydropower Contract location: Pointe-Claire, Quebec, CA Location type: Location Flexible Contract type: Permanent Responsibilities Identify challenges and technical requirements per customer specifications and company design practices. Develop overall technical proposals, including supply, logistics, engineering, and QA costs, and prepare supporting technical documentation. Establish supply plan with support of the Cost Estimator. Establish project schedule with support of the Scheduler. Prepare preliminary design of turbine components for the proposal. Create RFQ packages for turbine components and site services. Negotiate/clarify with key vendors/subcontractors together with the Cost Estimator. Provide key inputs to develop a winning technical offer strategy, validate it as the proposal progresses, and ensure followthrough by the team. Lead and challenge the engineering resources performing turbine design for the proposal. Complete technical risk analysis and integrate required actions/exceptions into the proposal. Lead technical negotiations with the client in support of the proposal and ensure final ''''as sold'''' documentation reflects the agreed solution for handover to the project execution team. Qualifications Fluency in French & English languages mandatory. Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering. Minimum of 5 years of experience in the field of hydroelectric power plants (mainly turbine). Knowledge of technical aspects of hydromechanical projects (commercial knowledge is an asset). Strong design experience (hydroelectric turbine design experience an asset). Experience in assembling hydroelectric turbine units an asset. Project Management skills ability to handle multiple complex tasks daily. Effective communication skills (oral & written) in a multistakeholder environment. Proven leadership ability within a team context. Excellent problemsolving skills, sound judgment, initiative & creativity. Legal status to work in Canada is required.
