Estimator | Commercial Construction Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Commercial Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of construction processes. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating project specifications, preparing accurate cost estimates, and collaborating with project managers and trade partners to ensure successful project execution. Your expertise with negotiation skills will be essential in securing competitive pricing for our projects. About You - An experienced Construction Estimator with minimum 5 7 years estimating for an industrial, General Contracting Company. - You are comfortable and committed to using software and apps as daily tools to communicate and complete tasks - Problem solver - Organized | Strong Multitasker Roles & Responsibilities - Analyze bid, blueprints, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for commercial construction projects. - Understand contractual terms and conditions - Provide clear detailed quantity take-offs - Assemble and distribute accurate, well-organized tender packages, RFIs & RFQs as required - Manage and complete a tender analysis for bid pricing from suppliers | trade contractors - Review supplier |trade contractor quotes to ensure they meet contract documents | specifications. Negotiate accordingly - Prepare professional & detailed project estimates/quotations - Maintain relationships with suppliers and tradecontractors - Develop and maintain unit pricing and database for material and labour costing - Formulate cost break down from estimates and for project progress - Evaluate cost of change orders with project team. - Assist project team in tracking project progress vs. cost expenditures on a weekly basis. - Monitor industry trends and pricing changes to ensure competitive bidding practices Qualifications - You are a graduate of a construction based two-year post-secondary education program - Over five years proven experience estimating in the commercial construction industry. - Above average computer skills with proficiency in MS Office, AutoCAD and Bluebeam. - Ability to build strong relationships with tradecontractors | suppliers | coworkers - Strong but fair negotiator - Strong cost control and project budget management experience - You understand project management processes and project delivery sequences - Excellent planning, management, organizational, documentation and communication skills What we Offer - Opportunities for career growth and training - Comprehensive medical and dental plan - Competitive wages and travel per diem - Quality accommodations | gear | vehicles WHO WE ARE Sealand Building Group is a leading design | build construction services company focused on Food Processing | Cold Storage | Distribution | AgriFood | Special Projects.
