RECE Supervisor (Principal) - Bloomsbury AcademyWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced full-time Supervisor (RECE), which is also our Principal to lead the academic, operational, and regulatory functions of our Bloomsbury Academy school in North York. The School Principal is responsible for the overall leadership, compliance, educational quality, and parent experience at Bloomsbury Academy Sloane. This role combines pedagogical leadership, Ministry compliance oversight, staff management, and high-touch customer service appropriate for a private school environment.As a licensed child care centre operating under the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and regulated by the Ontario Ministry of Education (MOE), Bloomsbury Academy Sloane maintains the highest standards of compliance, safety, and educational excellence.At Fitzrovia and Bloomsbury Academy, we pride ourselves on being an entrepreneurial and innovative organization, which makes this role well suited for a candidate looking to roll up their sleeves, wear multiple hats and contribute to all aspects of real estate investment and development.As we are a highly collaborative team, the successful candidate will be required to work on-site full-time. This position is being created to support anticipated growth. The salary range for this position is $75,000 $85,000 per year, based on skills and experience. Responsibilities:Regulatory Compliance & Licensing (MOE / CCEYA)Ensure full compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (CCEYA) and Ontario Regulation 137/15Maintain up-to-date required policies and proceduresLead Ministry inspections and licensing visitsOversee serious occurrence reporting and documentationEnsure staff training compliance (First Aid, VSC, annual policy reviews)Maintain accurate records and regulatory bindersEducational LeadershipOversee implementation of Bloomsburys Montessori-inspired programEnsure alignment with How Does Learning Happen? (HDLH)Support curriculum planning and pedagogical documentationMentor and coach RECEs and educatorsSupport childrens school readiness and executive function developmentFoster inclusive practices and Individual Support Plans (ISPs)Montessori certification is considered a strong asset.Staff Leadership & CultureRecruit, onboard, and supervise educators and support staffConduct performance evaluations and provide coachingMaintain positive staff morale and team cohesionOversee staffing ratios and scheduling in compliance with CCEYALead staff meetings and professional development initiativesParent Experience & Customer ServiceAs a private preschool, Bloomsbury Academy Sloane prioritizes exceptional family experience.Serve as the primary point of contact for familiesAddress parent concerns with professionalism and responsivenessLead tours for prospective familiesSupport admissions and enrollment processesMaintain a calm, polished, and service-oriented leadership presenceThe Principal must demonstrate strong emotional intelligence and customer service orientation.Health, Safety & Risk ManagementEnsure supervision standards and headcount procedures are followedOversee safe arrival and dismissal proceduresManage illness exclusion, outbreak protocols, and infection controlEnsure playground and environment safety inspectionsLead emergency preparedness drills and documentationOperational OversightMonitor enrollment and capacity planningCollaborate with central operations on budgets and staffingSupport tuition communication and policy enforcementMaintain campus presentation and physical environment standardsQualifications and Experiences:Registered Early Childhood Educator (RECE) in good standing with the College of Early Childhood EducatorsMinimum 5 years experience in licensed child careMinimum 23 years leadership experience (Supervisor or Principal level preferred)Strong knowledge of CCEYA and MOE licensing requirementsExperience leading Ministry inspectionsValid Standard First Aid & CPR-CVulnerable Sector CheckMontessori certification (AMI, MACTE, or equivalent), an assetExperience in a private school setting, an assetBachelors or Masters degree in Education, ECE, or related field, an assetFlexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed is expected.
