This Volunteer Placement is located in: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Start Date: July 2026 Placement Length: 5 months Language Requirements: English Level 5-Fluent Eligibility: Open to Canadian Citizens and Permanent Residents of Canada only The Volunteer''s Role Cuso International is looking for a candidate who is interested in joining the Volunteering Cooperation Program. In the role of Gender Equality Advisor, you will leverage your knowledge in Gender Studies, Social Inclusion, and International Development to assist the SHARE Project in collaboration with the Msichana Initiative in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. This initiative aims to promote the development and empowerment of women, girls, and individuals facing poverty and vulnerability in Tanzania. As a volunteer, you will: Review and tailor the Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI) strategy and training materials Facilitate GESI training workshops for Msichana Initiative staff and community stakeholders Support the design of advocacy strategies on girls'' rights and education Assist in developing monitoring tools for gender-related outcomes Provide mentorship to project staff on gender mainstreaming and inclusive programming Essential Qualifications: Bachelor''s degree in Gender Studies, Women''s Studies, Social Sciences, or related field Essential Background: 23 years'' experience in gender programming, women''s empowerment, or related advocacy work Experience designing and delivering gender equality trainings or workshops What''s in it for YOU? Project: Sharing Canadian Expertise for Inclusive Development and Gender Equality (SHARE) Partner: Msichana Initiative Volunteer Support and Requirements Support Package Cuso International provides a comprehensive support package to ensure volunteers maintain a modest and healthy lifestyle aligned with local standards.
