Description The University of Alberta, Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry, in partnership with Alberta Health Services (AHS), invites applications for an academic position within the Division of Pediatric Immunology, Hematology/Oncology, Palliative Care and Environmental Health (iHOPE) in the Department of Pediatrics. This fulltime (1.0FTE), tenuretrack (contingent) position is 60% clinical and 40% academic, with responsibilities in research, teaching and administration. Responsibilities - Provide inpatient and outpatient care to Pediatric Hematology and Thrombosis patients as part of a multidisciplinary team at Stollery Childrens Hospital, Alberta Health Services, and participate in afterhours and weekend oncall coverage. - Teach and mentor learners at all levels in clinical and academic settings. - Conduct impactful research in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology and engage with the Women and Childrens Health Research Institute (WCHRI). - Collaborate closely with other programs, interdisciplinary teams and healthcare professionals to advance Pediatric Hematology care and education. Qualifications - MD degree (or equivalent). - Completed specialty training in Pediatrics and subspecialty training in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology. - Certified or eligible to become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (Pediatric Hematology/Oncology). - Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA). Considered an Asset - At least 1 year of advanced research training. - Completed masters degree or PhD. About iHOPE iHOPE (Immunology, Hematology, and Palliative care) includes five pediatric hematologists and multiple other subspecialists, basic scientists and palliative care experts. The division is active in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and in basic and clinical science research. The role will provide clinical support for pediatric hematology and KIDCLOT inpatient and outpatient services, and help build a research programme within the pediatric haematology/KIDCLOT program. About WCHRI The Women and Childrens Health Research Institute supports researchers within the Faculty of Medicine & Dentistry and Alberta Health Services. It provides funding opportunities, biostatistical expertise, qualitative design support, knowledgetranslation resources and clinical trials services, and invests in research development by supporting trainees through scholarships, fellowships and travel grants.
