Reporting to theDirector, Policy and Planning (Director), the Senior Policy Analyst (Analyst) is responsible for researching and developing policy and legislative initiatives to address the priorities and strategic direction of the department overall, in alignment with the government mandate and ensuring that internal and external consultation occurs with stakeholders throughout the development and implementation process. This position is required to demonstrate leadership on significant files and provide high level advice and support the Director. This includes representing the department at various governmental committees and committees of the legislative assembly. The incumbent prepares departmental responses and briefing notes as required to support Senior Managers, Assistant Deputy Minister, the Deputy Minister (DM) and Ministers office, in addition to key documents such as cabinet submissions, reports, directives and discussion papers.
