Your Next Challenge Reporting to the Asset Protection & Emergency Management Superintendent, you will be part of the Asset Protection Department. You will be accountable for daytoday operations at the Detour Lake Mine Site, ensuring that the goals and objectives are achieved while promoting and respecting Agnico Eagles values, Health & Safety Code of Conduct and the environment. Formulates, develops, and administers directives, programs, policies, and procedures to achieve corporate and departmental objectives; Works directly with the volunteerappointed Emergency Response Team Volunteers (underground Mine Rescue Team and Surface Emergency Response Team); Manages resources to achieve strategic objectives in areas such as deployment, equipment, training, technology procedure and use, and overall compliance to the applicable requirements; Demonstrates leadership in managing and engaging team members, providing feedback and/or constructive feedback; Ascertains quotations and estimates for budgetary considerations and approvals, making recommendations to inform current and future expenditures; Procures services and goods in accordance with corporate policy and process; Formulates deployment and learning programs to achieve objectives and standards; Provides guidance and consultation to ensure master plan standards, Agnico Eagle Mines Detour Lake property policies and procedures, and Provincial legislation and standards are adhered to; Ensures workplace accidents are investigated and appropriate followup and/or remedial action is taken; participates in Joint Health and Safety Committees as management representative; Performs fire investigations to determine the preliminary cause, securing the incident scene and preserving evidence, according to job performance requirements; Supervises emergency services (medical, rescueincluding confined space, high angle, elevator, trench, surface waterhazardous material, Airport response, and other related emergency services) when required, in a safe, competent, and professional manner; Describes the procedures for conducting fire inspections so that all hazards, including hazardous materials, are identified; Supervises emergency operations, conducts preincident planning, and deploys assigned resources; Develops and conducts postincident analysis so that all required critical elements are identified and communicated; Processes customer service concerns, investigating, problemsolving, and responding as appropriate; Acts as department liaison regarding allied partners including paramedic services, police, and neighboring fire services; Oversees public relations activities on behalf of the department, identifying and communicating with all necessary audiences, and acting as spokesperson as required; Responsible for the hiring, discipline, dismissal, performance management, and training of staff, in consultation with the Asset Protection & Emergency Management Superintendent and Human Resources; Performs other related duties as assigned. What You Need to Succeed Must be a graduate of the Ontario Fire College, Company Officer Diploma or equivalent; Minimum 10 years of service in a municipal/Industrial Fire Service with at least 5 years of progressive supervisory experience; Experience in the development and delivery of fire, medical/rescue, and hazardous material programs/services; Supervisory experience, including significant leadership experience in a complex and diverse environment; Demonstrated knowledge of building construction and techniques including wiring, heating systems, industrial processes (including chemical reactions), and the dangers of flammable and combustible materials and liquids, and ability to read and interpret building plans, drawings, and blueprints; Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations, standards, codes, industry policy and practice pertaining to fire protection/prevention, inspection, investigation, safety education, and legal proceedings, such as the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, Ontario Fire Code, Occupational Health and Safety Act, Human Rights Code, Provincial Offences Act and Criminal Code of Canada; Excellent administration, organizational, and timemanagement skills; Strong communication and interpersonal skills required; Ability to demonstrate initiative consistently with a commitment to quality improvement, sharing process improvement initiatives with management, and companywide; Currently certified Emergency Medical Responder (EMR); Proficiency in the use of required photography and/or audiovisual equipment; Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint), S4 Hana/JD Edwards Enterprise Resource Planning interface, the Internet, and any other related software; Must participate in extensive and ongoing fire service training (e.g., leadership workshops, executive leadership seminars, emergency planning workshops); ICS 100 (200 & 300 would be considered an asset); Successful completion of NFPA 1002 Apparatus Driver Operator Certification; Successful completion of NFPA 1003 Airport professional or CARS 3.1.4 would be considered an asset; Successful completion of NFPA 1021 Standard for Fire Officer Professional Qualification Level 1; Successful completion of NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructor Level 1; Successful completion of NFPA 1035 Standard on Fire and Life Safety Educator Public Information Officer Level I (Willing to Obtain); NFPA 1051 Wildland firefighter would be considered an asset; Upon a conditional offer of employment, a Criminal Record Check, including a Vulnerable Sector Search, will be required; Previous Ontario Mine Rescue experience would be considered an asset. Your Work Schedule Schedule: 14/14 schedule at our Detour Lake Mine; Accommodations and meals are provided on site at no cost to the employee. Agnico Eagle provides transportation to and from the mine site and will accommodate to cover other travelling expenses according to your location of residence in Canada. Compensation Statement In accordance with applicable legislation, the expected compensation includes base salary and potential bonus opportunity.
