Located within the School of Public Health at the University of Alberta, the Settings-Based Intervention Research through Changes in Lifestyles and Environments (SIRCLE) research group conducts research with a goal to advance and mobilize knowledge in the area of school and community health. SIRCLE delivers and evaluates school- and community-based healthy living programs throughout Canada which promote wholistic health, prevent chronic diseases, and reduce health inequities. SIRCLE works to create systems-level change through projects that foster resilience and empowerment and builds on the strengths of communities. This research program is unique in evaluating the how and the why of school- and community-based health promotion interventions and aims to improve the overall health and well-being of children, families and communities. Using both quantitative and qualitative methodologies, SIRCLE research evaluates the process, impact, and outcomes of health promotion interventions. The Data Coordinator will be responsible for data management for the Healthy Schools | LINK | coles Saines Project within the SIRCLE Research Lab. The Data Coordinator will work closely with the Project Manager, Research Coordinator, and PI. They will coordinate data activities, specifically, the creation of an online evaluation tool for schools to measure shifts in school health. Activities include data refinement, coordination with partners, evaluation, and knowledge translation. They will also assist with ethics amendments, standard operating procedures and managing trainees. The research program is part of One Child Every Child (OCEC): A Transformational Child Health Research Initiative that is a Canada First Research Excellence Fund (CFREF) funded initiative. This ground-breaking initiative will transform child health research in Canada, promote Indigenous-led knowledge creation and self-determination, and drive discovery and innovation. One Child Every Child is a Parallel Paths project that has Indigenous and non-Indigenous Paths.
