(MECI) is seeking a Project Coordinator to assist in proposal preparation, project coordination and project execution. You would work closely with Project Managers and your MECI colleagues to complete tasks as required. Tasks include construction estimating, scheduling, project planning, quality management, technical writing and assisting with field work coordination. You will be responsible for representing Milestone in a professional way that reflects our core values of Ingenuity, Entrepreneurial Spirit, Caring, Accountability and Collaboration. RESPONSIBILITIES Assist Project Managers and colleagues in the successful completion of estimates, proposals, and projects. Interpret and read engineering drawings and specifications. Produce and maintain technical documents, including quality management plans, project schedules and construction work plans. Complete construction takeoffs, including production rates, material estimates and volume calculations. Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) Act and Regulations for construction projects by implementing the Companys OH&S management system. Procure construction materials ensuring timely delivery and accuracy of purchase orders. Arrange and conduct construction field services and inspections. Participate and assist in client meetings. Use project scheduling and control tools to track project budgets and progress. Ensure clients needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner. Review field inspection reports throughout the project lifecycle. Obtain and review contractor and supplier quotations. Communicate ideas for improving company processes with a positive and constructive attitude, and for developing this attitude in others. Keep the project team informed about project matters that may impact client relations or project progress. Other work as required including preparing project estimates and responding to Request for Proposals Health and Safety Read, understand, and participate in MECIs Corporate Health and Safety Program, Policy, and Procedures. Ensure health and safety are considered in the performance of all activities. QUALIFICATIONS Education Requirements Civil/Environmental Engineering Degree or Civil Engineering Technologist or Technician Diploma and/or equivalent field experience; or, Any equivalent combination of education or experiences from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved. Experience Required Civil or environmental construction field experience is an asset. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities English fluency required. Excellent written and oral communication skills are necessary. Construction or environmental industry experience preferred. Strong computer skills: Microsoft Excel and Word competency required, MS Project or Primavera is an asset. Excellent planning, collaborative, numerical and organizational skills Able to work in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail. Able to understand and prioritize requests. Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather. WORK ENVIRONMENT Must be willing to travel as it is an essential function of the role. Work is primarily in an office environment but will require travel to work sites throughout very remote regions of Canada for an extended period of time.
