Work Schedule Day Shift: Monday Friday; 6:30am 3:00pm (40hrs per week) Compensation At S&C, we are dedicated to providing competitive and equitable compensation for all our team members and are committed to transparency in our pay practices. The estimated hourly base pay rate for this position is $25.50. This position may also be eligible for S&Cs annual incentive plan (AIP). AIP amounts are variable and are dependent on both company and team performance, subject to eligibility criteria. The target bonus percentage for this role is 4% of annual base earnings. Join Our Team as a Packer (External Logistics) Are you passionate about logistics? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual for our metalenclosed switchgear shipping and receiving function. As a Packer, you will be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. You will work in a production environment, engage in continuous productive activity and must meet requirements within predetermined time constraints. Tasks require the use of both hands and arms on a repetitive basis for a full range of motion. Key Responsibilities Construct custom packaging crates for S&C products using power saws, drills, screw guns, and other hand tools. Review mechanical drawings and measure gear dimensions to ensure accurate skid construction. Operate forklifts and overhead cranes to transport completed products to the crating area, and position products on skids or crate bases. Ensure the correct products and parts are packaged according to instructions from senior team members, including any required subpackages of smaller components. Verify that finished products and associated components have successfully passed final inspections prior to packaging. Load the gear onto the truck using the overhead crane and the forklift (Building5Crating only). Use internal software applications and whiteboards to review packing requests, respond promptly, and accurately document completed jobs. Meet departmental targets while consistently adhering to quality and safety standards. Understand and comply with all applicable company policies and procedures. What Youll Need To Succeed 12 years of demonstrated experience in carpentry, woodworking, packaging, or related experience that requires the use of power tools. 12 years of driving a forklift with a safe driving record. Good carpentry skills with an understanding of how to construct simple wooden structures such as pallets and crates. Strong attention to detail with the ability to determine accurate quantities and specifications. Ability to work independently and meet the requirements of assigned handling and packaging tasks. Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively share information with team members across various production support departments. Basic computer skills with the ability to view and respond to requests through internal applications. Basic math skills, including the ability to calculate quantities and weights. Strong interpersonal and organizational skills, with the ability to understand and complete requests from team members within and outside the department. Demonstrated ability to contribute to a respectful, diverse, and inclusive work environment. Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and measuring instruments such as scales and tape measures. Willingness to follow Health, Safety & Environment procedures accurately and report concerns promptly to the Safety Action Team. Physical Demands Standing: All tasks are performed in a standing position with intermittent walking. Lifting: Frequent lifting of items ranging in weight from 5lbs to 20lbs. Walking: Occasional walking moderate distances (less than 1km). Carrying: Frequent carrying of items ranging in weight from 5lbs to 20lbs. Pushing: Occasional pushing of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000lbs. Pulling: Occasional pulling of motorized material handling carts with loaded weights up to 1000lbs. Bending: Frequent bending and crouching to safely lift parts of various sizes and shapes. Reaching: Continuous full range of motion from above the shoulders to below the knees.
