The GeoFocus Group is a results-driven construction management firm specializing in complex, time-sensitive, and technically demanding projects. Our work includes the recovery and completion of distressed developments, CMHC MLI Select purpose-built rentals, and midrise new construction across the Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) sectors. We are seeking a highly experienced Director of Project Management to take full ownership of project delivery across the organization. This is a senior leadership role for a proven operator, someone who has led major files personally, built and scaled high-performing PM teams, and enforced execution standards in demanding construction environments. This role is both strategic and hands-on. The successful candidate will lead key projects directly while setting the delivery standard for the entire Project Management function. This position is not suited to PMO administrators or purely process-driven managers. We are looking for a delivery leader with real execution scars. Key Accountabilities Project Delivery Leadership Serve as Lead Project Manager on flagship, complex, or high-risk projects. Provide executive-level oversight across all active projects with accountability for schedule, coordination, and execution. Intervene decisively on projects requiring stabilization, recovery, or course correction. PM Team Build-Out & Leadership Build, lead, and scale a high-performance Project Management team. Recruit, onboard, mentor, and manage Project Managers aligned with GeoFocus Groups delivery standards. Establish clear expectations, accountability, and performance metrics across the PM team. Develop PM talent through coaching, direct oversight, and example-based leadership. Standards, Systems and Disciplines Define and enforce standardized project management methodologies, reporting, and communication protocols. Ensure consistency of execution across all projects while allowing for project-specific complexity. Eliminate ad-hoc, personality-driven project delivery in favor of disciplined, repeatable execution. Oversight, Risk & Decision Making Maintain active visibility into project schedules, scopes, budgets, and critical path items. Identify delivery risk early and force timely resolution. Act as the primary escalation point for PMs and cross-functional delivery issues. Senior Leadership Interface Provide clear, concise, and actionable project reporting to senior leadership. Translate field-level realities into executive-level insight and decision support. Protect leadership time by filtering noise and surfacing only material issues. We are targeting maximum experience. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will bring: 15+ years of progressive project management and delivery leadership experience in construction management, development, or ICI sectors. Demonstrated success leading complex, multi-stakeholder projects as a Senior Project Manager, Project Director, or equivalent. Proven experience building, managing, and scaling high-performing PM teams. A track record of delivering under pressure, schedule compression, distressed projects, or high-risk environments. Strong operational judgment, decisiveness, and accountability mindset. The ability to command respect from PMs, consultants, trades, and senior leadership. Education in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field is preferred.
