About the Opportunity The IMIT/OPOR BMDI Sr. Systems Analyst (SA) / Business Analyst (BA), reports to an IMIT/OPOR Manager, and is responsible for the evaluation, design, testing, implementation, maintenance, and support of information management and medical device technology solutions, projects and services across NSH, IWK and its many external clients. The IMIT/OPOR BMDI Sr. SA/BA collaborates with key clinical and business stakeholders throughout the province as the organization, in partnership with the provinces Internal Services Department and the Department of Health and Wellness, moves towards the rationalization of disparate systems and the OPOR strategy. The IMIT/OPOR BMDI Sr. SA/BA will be committed to a high standard of performance and will provide support across the organization to leverage IT applications aligned with NSHs and its clients strategic mission, vision and goals. The IMIT/OPOR BMDI Sr. SA/BA performs a variety of tasks, including but not limited to: evaluation of requests for change, data retrieval and optimization opportunities; troubleshooting and assisting with the resolution of application errors and other system issues; development of materials and the communication of system changes to end users; and, building and maintaining all system configuration items in line with best practice and appropriate stakeholder approvals. Additionally, this position ensures that all activities within their responsible area are supported by NSH IMIT/OPOR business plan, established policies/procedures, and in line with service level agreements between NSH, IWK and the Department of Health and Wellness. About You Degree or diploma in an Information Technology, Business Analysis or HealthRelated discipline. Consideration may be given to those with equivalent training and relevant experience Minimum of 5 years experience in a Technology, Business Analysis or HealthRelated field 2+ years experience in application programming, systems analysis, business analysis or systems support Experience and/or training with healthcare information systems and terminology an asset Experience and/or training with medical device systems and medical device integrations an asset Certification in Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) and/or Certified Biomedical Engineering Technologist (CBET(C)) considered an asset Certification in IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL), Project Management (PMP) and/or organizational change management an asset Experience supporting clinical application systems and related services in a complex health care organizational environment considered an asset Ability to relay or explain complex issues or difficult scenarios to clinical and business staff Working knowledge of basic systems principles, theories and concepts within healthcare Strong knowledge of health care and technology industry best practice relating to software applications About You Continued Ability to solve a range of complex problems; identify innovative solutions; and, use clinical best practice knowledge of internal and/or external business issues to improve service Experience creating summary documentation based on evaluation and analysis Ability to influence and collaborate with diverse stakeholders to solve high risk, complex issues Experience in transformational or process analysis to support change management principles Organizational Skills, high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to clearly communicate NSH vision, mission and values Experience in working with patient care leaders Hours Temporary, Fulltime; 75 Hours Biweekly Assignment approximately 12 months Compensation and Benefits $38.36 - $47.95 Hourly Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, longterm disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
