Senior Financial Analyst Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid) Wesdomes newly renovated and modern Corporate office is situated in the heart of downtown Toronto, offering unparalleled convenience and accessibility for professionals. About The Opportunity In this position, the Senior Financial Analyst will be instrumental in many aspects of the financial reporting process, including budgeting and forecasting models, while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial statements in compliance with regulatory standards. Reporting to the Manager, Finance, this key role involves close collaboration with internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate reporting and analysis, as well as with external auditors, to facilitate smooth and successful audits. Position Responsibilities, Accountabilities And Job Duties Financial Reporting & Compliance Financial Reporting Coordination: Help prepare external financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A, ensuring compliance with IFRS and Canadian regulatory requirements. Transaction Analysis: Maintain an in-depth understanding and analysis of significant and unusual transactions to assess their impact on disclosures. Monthly Consolidations: Assist with timely and accurate monthly financial consolidations, including working paper preparation and analysis. Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed of business activities and related regulatory environments to manage and comply with all reporting requirements and disclosures. IFRS Knowledge Management: Maintain up-to-date knowledge of IFRS and related reporting requirements, managing changes and updates to internal accounting processes and practices. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Contribute to the preparation of the annual budget and periodic forecasts by gathering inputs, updating templates, and ensuring accuracy of assumptions. Support the development and maintenance of financial models to analyze key business drivers, trends, and variances. Assist in preparing monthly and quarterly financial performance packages for senior leadership and the Board, including insightful commentary on variances vs. budget, forecast, and prior periods. Provide ad hoc analysis to support strategic initiatives, investment decisions, and cost management efforts. Operational & Cross-Functional Collaboration Collaborate with operations and finance teams to validate data and ensure alignment between operational and financial results. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and support the preparation of dashboards and scorecards to track business performance. Accounting Operations Corporate Service Allocations & Account Reconciliation: Manage monthly corporate service allocations to the operating businesses and perform working paper reconciliations as required. Continuous Improvement & Process Optimization Process Improvement: Contribute toward continuous improvement initiatives for finance processes and optimization, including workshops, and implementing changes to enhance financial reporting consistency. Qualifications And Experience Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Business or Finance Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) or equivalent Five (5) years of work experience in a Financial Reporting role, including reporting, GL management, and the FP&A function Working knowledge of enterprise resource programs (ERP); preference given to those with experience using SAP In-depth knowledge of IFRS and related financial reporting requirements Advanced Excel and financial modelling experience Bilingual English - French is an asset Working Conditions / Schedule Location: Toronto, ON Type of Hire: Permanent, Full Time Existing vacancy: Yes Travel: Office-based role with frequent travel to operational sites as required.
