In addition to supporting governance meetings, AGMs, and events this role supports the YMCA BC Foundation specifically in executing the operation plan in areas of governance, fund investments and granting management. The Director will work closely with governance volunteers, YBC Executive Leadership team, Senior Leadership staff, and when appropriate YBCF donors. Major Responsibilities YBC, YBC Foundation, YBC Properties Foundation: Direct support to the following Executive Team Leaders (ELT) responsible for specific entity as follows: YBC CEO, SVP Fund Development, CFO YBC Foundation CEO, SVP Fund Development, CFO YBC Properties Foundation CEO, SVP Asset Development, CFO Board Committees (12 in total) CEO and ELT lead Coordinate and prepare Board and Committee meetings, working with ELT leads and Committee Chairs to ensure agendas are appropriate, working with ELT leads to ensure documentation is complete and posted on time, occasionally drafting reports for Board, and overall, ensuring clear, accurate, and timely information is available for Board Directors. Secure Mission in Action presenters/videos for select Board meetings Track and support follow-up actions arising from meetings. Support the development and execution of Annual Workplans for each Committee, working with the ELT lead and Committee Chair Lead the development of each Boards Annual Meeting calendar, drafted each spring for the following calendar year Responsible for the Annual General Meetings and Corporate Registration required to abide by the Society Act of BC Provide volunteers and senior staff guidance with organization Constitution and By-law matters Support the CEO and Chairs with Board recruitment, training and onboarding Coordinate all governance meeting events from venue logistics, AV, catering, hybrid meetings, to special guests Support the CEO with YCanada governance nominations and governance survey/projects Manage the YBC Governance budget with SVP Fund Development support Execute Board Evaluations with consultants and assist the respective ELT Leader and CEO with action plan Lead the submission for Imagine Canada Standard, with the support of ELT leaders Lead to coordinate the YMCA Family Meetings (2 times a year) with CEO YBC Foundation: Oversee the daytoday operations of the YBC Foundation, ensuring smooth workflow, strong financial stewardship, and timely preparation of reports for governance committees in collaboration with the SVP Fund Development, CFO and CEO Support the execution of the annual operation plan Support the quarterly review of investment performance and fund activity alongside the Joint Investment, Audit and Compliance Committee, helping ensure responsible and transparent fund management Lead the process for identifying, allocating, and distributing designated and discretionary grants by supporting the Impact and Advancement Committee and collaborating closely with YMCA leadership to ensure alignment with organizational priorities. Support CFO and SVP Fund Development with Risk Mitigation plans Support fund development team with the annual Heritage Club lunch Qualification BA preferred (or equivalent advanced university education) Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience Strong strategic business insight Excellent written, verbal, and active listening skills, with strong presentation abilities Solid understanding of CRA regulations and foundation compliance Proven ability to perform effectively under pressure in a matrixed environment with limited time and resources Demonstrated collaborative team contributor Highly developed interpersonal and relationship-building skills Knowledge of British Columbias philanthropic, social, and business sectors Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and database work (Aprio) Successful candidate will be required to provide 3 satisfactory references Successful candidates will be required to provide a current and satisfactory Criminal Record check with a Vulnerable sector search issued no later than six (6) months preceding the start date.
