The Opportunity Position Title: Canadian Shelter Transformation Network Coordinator Reports To: President & CEO Employment Type: Full-time Contract Schedule: 5 days on/2 days off, Monday to Friday Contract Term: One year contract Location: 1 Dermot Baldwin Way SE, Calgary, Alberta; for local applicants. This role has the potential to be remote or hybrid depending on the successful candidates location. About the Department The Canadian Shelter Transformation Network (CSTN) is a network of homeless shelter leaders and organizations committed to becoming housing focused shelters and in taking on community leadership roles in ending homelessness. The CSTN is an Allied Network of the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness. What Youll Do Every role at the DI makes a difference. In this position, you will: Champion and promote housingfocused shelters to strengthen homelessness response systems. Create dynamic social media content that builds awareness and shares best practices in housingfocused sheltering. Mobilize and collaborate with housing-focused shelter practitioners to gather insights on emerging practices, celebrate successes, uncover challenges, and transform these insights into stronger, more responsive member support. Empower the CSTN Steering Committee with strong meeting prep, clear agendas, reporting, and progress tracking across projects and budgets. Lead energetic, highimpact monthly housingfocused shelter webinars by planning engaging content, hosting and moderating sessions, coordinating guest speakers, driving promotion, and sharing followup resources that extend learning and momentum. Keep the CSTN website vibrant and up to date, ensuring tools, resources, and blog content are easy for members to find and use. Grow and engage CSTN membership by maintaining the registry and amplifying participation through events and communications. Support OrgCode Consulting Inc. through coordinating Communities of Practice, pilot projects, and site visits, including agendas, minutes, and actionitem followup. Curate CSTN member meetings and conference sessions that spark meaningful presentations, rich dialogue, and powerful networking opportunities. Drive the success of training and learning sessions by delivering seamless logistics, energizing promotion, and contributing to meaningful impact evaluation. Propel national advocacy efforts that advance housingfocused shelter models and amplify the key insights shaping change across Canada. Support fundraising and longterm sustainability through opportunity identification, proposal support, and progress tracking. In this role, youll act as a dynamic connector across members, partners, and stakeholders, including OrgCode Consulting Inc., driving communications, learning initiatives, advocacy, and sustainability efforts that advance housingfocused shelter practices and strengthens homelessness response systems nationwide. Must-Haves Minimum five years of experience in project management, association leadership, event coordination and/or non-profit organizational development Post-Secondary degree or diploma Deep understanding of the homelessness, homeless shelters and non-profit sectors Empathetic with excellent listening and human interrelations skills Nice to Haves French communications skills highly coveted but not essential Energetic and self-directed, with effective time management and organizational skills including the ability to deal with several priorities at the same time. Well-developed interpersonal, conflict resolution and negotiating skills. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to direct and improve projects, programs, and processes.
