What we promise: flexible work environment, including ability to work from home up to two (2) days per week employer paid health and dental benefit packages from day 1 free gym membership at Town recreation centres Under the direction of the Supervisor, Technical Services, Information Technology, this position plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of desktop computing environments across the organization. This position is responsible for delivering deploying, managing, and supporting computer hardware, software, and peripherals used by business units. The role also includes L2 advanced technical support, user account, permissions, license management, asset management, remote IT support, and contributing to the development and maintenance of enterprise-wide IT standards and procedures. How you contribute to our organization: Conduct proactive monitoring, performance checks, and system health analyses to identify potential issues before they impact clients. Perform detailed root cause analysis (RCA) for recurring or critical issues and drive preventive solutions. Author and maintain knowledge base articles, How Tos, SOPs and troubleshooting guides made available to staff through SharePoint. Provide advanced support for problem determination / resolution, new installations and upgrade of a wide range of hardware, software, peripherals and applications while adhering to service level requirements. Minor incident coordination and post incident reviews with root cause/lessons learned input. (ITIL Incident and Problem Management). Proactively recognize potential major incidents and lead and contribute to major incident management. Provide Level 1 and advanced Level 2 support for test, production/client-facing environments via phone, email, and chat; investigate, research, triage, prioritize, and resolve incidents/requests within service level agreement (SLA) targets using ITSM case management tool while maintaining communication with customers on status, roadblocks and timelines. Leverage AI tools including Copilot/knowledge bots for faster triage, draft high quality user communications, surface relevant knowledge articles, and identify patterns in incident datawhile validating outputs and maintaining privacy. Monitor, investigate, and remediate security alerts to ensure timely protection of systems and data from potential cyber threats. Contribute to the process of modernizing workflows within the Town by supporting innovative pilots or proof of concept projects where applicable. What you bring to the team: Diploma (2 year) in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience and relevant industry certifications. Requires a valid Class G driver license in good standing and reliable vehicle to use on corporate business is required. Bachelors degree in Computer Science/Information Technology is an asset. MCP, A+, Network+, ITIL Foundation (v3/v4) preferred, LEAN (white or yellow belt) is an asset 3 - 5 years in IT support/service desk or application support environments with demonstrated SLA adherence and customer satisfaction. Advanced experience with Windows client-server environments, including Active Directory account/permissions/group/OU management. Windows 10/11 desktop OS, Microsoft 365, Azure, Teams Administration, ERP business software, web-based applications, and working knowledge of MacOS. Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN) Working knowledge of remote access tools (TeamViewer). Service management platforms and case tracking tools. Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 Administration. Current and thorough knowledge of computer hardware and software Strong customer service and written/verbal communication skills.
