Job Description

Title: Production Manager Salary Range: $97,000 - $102,000 Annually Status: Exempt Location: Springfield, OH Reports to: Plant Manager General Description / Primary Purpose Supervise Production Supervisors and Team Leaders and overall processing activities during a designated shift. Major Responsibilities and Tasks Duties of the Position Responsible for the building operations during a designated shift Maximize the effectiveness of approximately 230 hourly employees, equipment, and materials to process and package products within planned schedules at a minimum cost Train employees on job responsibilities and goals; hold accountable for results Ensure availability of adequate supplies and materials needed to meet and exceed productivity standards Inspect production equipment on a regular basis, arrange for any maintenance needs to prevent downtime Maintain good communication with supervisors in other areas and on other shifts to ensure smooth running of production/processing throughout the Plant Assist with developing operating standards and yearly budgets Maintain excellent safety, quality, sanitation, and housekeeping standards Support special projects and other duties as assigned Manage production floor to SQF Standards Follow all food safety requirements and GMPs as applicable for this position Ensure the integrity and continued operations of the food safety system in the event of organizational or personnel changes within the company or associated facilities Identify, participate, and lead continuous improvement projects as it relates to safety, quality, and operational excellence Other duties as assigned Job Specific Competencies 3-4 years supervisory experience in a production environment involving efficiency improvement/ monitoring with strong safety and quality management. Food processing experience preferable. Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills Analytical skills, influence skills, and problem solving Strong Knowledge on Microsoft Office platforms Strong leadership skills, and the ability to manage, motivate, and train people Bilingual/Biliterate in English/Spanish Dynamic, handson ability to work in an extremely fastpaced, teamoriented foodprocessing environment Must have the ability to make decisions, maintain regular and acceptable attendance, follow directions, interact well with coworkers, understand, and follow posted work rules/procedures and to accept constructive criticism Flexibility to work on a variety of shifts Preferred Food Processing experience Flexibility to work in a variety of shifts Physical Requirements Ability to maneuver around an array of equipment Will have some exposure to fumes and airborne particles Ability to travel Able to occasionally work in a cold environment (35F on Plant floor) Work Hour & Travel Requirements Ability to work beyond regular business hours, weekends, and rotating shifts required Ability to travel Experience and Education Bachelors degree in Business Management preferred or equivalent experience in Operations Management or Food Manufacturing High school diploma or GED required EEO STATEMENT: We are an equal opportunity employer.
