The Opportunity: Senior iOS Engineer As a Senior iOS Engineer, youll play a pivotal role in shaping how millions of readers discover, navigate, and compare the news. Reporting to the Head of Mobile, you will work closely with the engineering team to design, build, and optimize features that empower our users to see every side of the story. This is a handson role where youll bring fresh ideas to a fastgrowing consumer app, balancing technical excellence with a deep care for user experience. From performance optimization to building new discovery features, your work will directly impact how people engage with the worlds news. You will be working as part of a crossfunctional team, driving our core features from start to finish. You will get full visibility on design and UX, and also exposure to the downstream analytics and users feedback. What Youll Do Design, write, debug, and maintain highquality features for the Ground News iOS app. Play a critical role in feature delivery as a core member of a dedicated engineering team. Partner with design, product, and backend teams to deliver seamless endtoend functionality. Employ automated testing to build features with a high degree of technical quality, taking responsibility for the components and features you develop. Craft and analyze experiments to deepen our understanding of how users engage with the iOS app. Champion high code quality through testing, code reviews, performance profiling, and bug fixes. Own the components and features you build, monitoring app stability and responding to crashes with urgency. What Youll Bring 7+ years of experience in building usercentric, high performing iOS apps. Deep expertise in Swift/Swift UI. Experience integrating RESTful APIs to connect iOS applications to backend services. Solid knowledge of mobile systems design and architecture patterns (e.g. MVC), with the ability to make and communicate sound architectural decisions at scale. Experience building natively for iPhone; familiarity with other iOS formats (iPad, widgets, etc.) is a plus. A track record of shipping and scaling a successful consumer app. Experience planning and executing rollouts to large user bases, including monitoring stability and mitigating risk. Experience facilitating experiments on mobile apps. Experience with Rich push notifications, Autolayout. Handson experience with app extensions, StoreKit, and inapp purchases. Why Work at Ground? Compensation & Benefits The salary range for this role is $142,000 $159,000 $185,000 (minmidmax). Your final offer will take into account various factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and internal parity.
