Conditions of employment Reliability Status security clearance - Obtain and maintain Reliability Status security clearance.Maintenance of a valid class 5 Nova Scotia Drivers License, or other provincial equivalency. Willingness to wear a Parks Canada uniform when required.Willingness to work shift-work, and/or weekends, and/or statutory holidays and provincial holidays when required.Willingness to work and/or travel in varied terrain, adverse weather conditions. ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE:Experience in managing human and financial resources.Experience in providing leadership, guidance and direction to work crews.Experience in managing schedules and reviewing work.Experience in the general repair and maintenance of facilities, structures, grounds, roads and highways, or other assets such as water/sewer infrastructure.Experience in the operation and maintenance of tools and equipment. Applied / assessed at a later date ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE:Knowledge of highway maintenance methods, standards, guidelines and equipment.Knowledge of snow removal methods, standards, and best practices. ESSENTIAL ABILITIES:Ability to plan, organize and implement maintenance programs.Ability to assess and evaluate work procedures and environments to identify potential hazardsAbility to advise supervisors and employees about safe work practices and safety standards and regulations.
