Cree Horizon is looking for an Assistant Director of Operations who can balance big-picture thinking with hands-on leadership to keep our projects running smoothly, safely, and successfully. Reporting directly to the Director, the Assistant Director of Operations plays a key role in the daily management of our camp-based projects. From budgets and timelines to team leadership and client relationships, youll be at the heart of operationsmaking sure quality, safety, and service always come first. The tasks and responsibilities of the Assistant Director of Operations include, but are not limited to, the following activities: RESPONSIBILITIES Leading Operations: Supervising daily project activities; assisting kitchen teams and maintenance staff; ensuring adherence to company policies; submitting reports on time (payroll, schedules, incidents, logs, travel, etc.); overseeing camp openings and closings. Ensuring the Financial Health of the Project: Monitoring operational costs; adjusting schedules as needed; reviewing site orders and issuing purchase orders; contributing to budgets, forecasts, and cash flow management. Coaching and Developing Teams: Coaching and supporting project supervisors; setting clear objectives; conducting performance evaluations; providing ongoing feedback; reviewing site management structures. Human Resources: Contributing to HR file management; participating in workforce and transportation forecasting; supporting recruitment and disciplinary follow-ups. Health and Safety: Promoting a safe and respectful work environment; collaborating with the OHS coordinator or prevention officer; ensuring compliance with health and safety policies; identifying potential risks and acting proactively. Building Strong Client Relationships: Maintaining strong professional relationships; ensuring service quality meets expectations; participating in regular client meetings; identifying and communicating opportunities for improvement. QUALIFICATIONS QUI RECHERCHONS-NOUS? WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR? Essential requirements for the position: A minimum of 5 years'' experience managing kitchens or commercial or industrial accommodation services Restaurant or hotel diploma an asset Experience in regional or remote labor camps an asset Able and willing to travel and work in remote environments SKILLS Demonstrates a sense of urgency and a strong commitment to achieving goals and objectives Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to work effectively with shifting priorities and rapid or unexpected changes Possesses strong situational awareness and effective problem-solving skills Advanced knowledge of kitchens and/or accommodation services, logistics, cost control, and quality control Ability to take responsibility, interact, and communicate effectively with others Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives Bilingual in French and English Valid drivers license and satisfactory driving record WHAT''S IN IT FOR YOU?
