Director of Operations & Finance Simply Computing is British Columbias leading independent Apple retailer, operating four retail locations along with a financial services company that provides equipment leasing, retail and business financing, interestfree payment programs, and the SimplyGuard extended warranty program. We are seeking a Director of Operations & Finance to run the daytoday business and build operational systems that support our retail stores and financial services programs. This is not a store manager role. The successful candidate will oversee operational profitability, financial reporting, and the infrastructure that allows store managers and franchise partners to succeed. This role is ideal for a CPA who wants to run a business rather than remain in a traditional accounting role. Responsibilities Own operational P&L for Simply Computing Inc. (SCI) Oversee performance of financial products offered through Simply Financial Services Inc. (SFS) Ensure store managers have the inventory, pricing, systems, and operational support required to achieve sales and margin targets Oversee the SimplyGuard extended warranty program, including pricing, product creation, and claims oversight Develop and price new financial products as the business evolves, including warranty programs for new Apple hardware releases and new financing structures Manage and expand retail and business financing programs, including equipment leasing and interestfree payment options Supervise bookkeeping and HR administration to ensure accurate financial reporting across SCI, SFS, and SCBI Build and maintain operational reporting systems providing visibility into sales, margins, and inventory Manage vendor relationships and purchasing terms to protect margins Hire, develop, and manage operational leadership including store managers, inventory, financial services, marketing, and accounting staff Support the transition of certain locations to a franchise model and oversee franchise compliance Qualifications CPA designation required 5+ years management experience, preferably in multilocation retail, franchise operations, or technology resale Strong financial skills including budgeting, cash flow management, and lease portfolio analysis Systems mindset and ability to improve operational processes and reporting Experience managing accounting or bookkeeping staff Strong leadership and interpersonal skills Ability to make independent decisions while working closely with the CEO Compensation Salary: $135,000 $150,000 Performance Bonus: Up to $25,000 based on company performance Benefits Extended health, dental, and group benefits Vacation 3 weeks to start, negotiable Location 1690 West Broadway, Vancouver About the Role Simply Computing is in an exciting period of transition.
