Job Description The CIMA+ offices in Western Canada are in the middle of a large growth trajectory. This means new, exciting complex projects that you will have the ability to shape and be a part of. The Intermediate Industrial Electrical Engineer will be called upon to manage a portfolio of multidisciplinary projects and electrical studies. We are looking for someone is excited to work independently and is keen to be a key player in and developing business relationships within the local industrial sector. Travel outside of the office and to industrial sites around Western Canada may be required on an ad hoc basis. This position could be based in our Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Saskatoon offices. Primary responsibilities Take part in all stages of projects Develop technical solutions Produce drawings and specifications Produce equipment specifications Coordinate among stakeholders Provide technical support for various clients Analyze proposals and issue recommendations for procurement Participate in site surveys Qualifications University diploma in Electrical Engineering Registered (or eligible to register as) member of Engineers and Geoscientists BC (EBGC) or that of a recognized Professional Engineering Association in Canada (P.Eng preferred) Minimum of 3+ years of experience in heavy industry In-depth knowledge of issues related to industrial production Available to work outside of the office on an occasional basis Nice to Have (Technical knowledge) 2D drafting in AutoCAD Instrumentation and field wiring of control systems Calculations including cable pull, heat trace, volt drop, cable sizing Power system modelling including load flow, short circuit, protection coordination, and arc flash Grounding studies and grounding design Protection relay and VFD parameter settings Power distribution equipment sizing, specification, and procurement The expected salary for this position is based on the richness and diversity of the candidates experience, training, skills and internal equity.
