CALL FOR STUDENT MEMBERS: Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility Committee (EDIAC) Do you want to help make Centennial College a more inclusive, equitable, and accessible community for all students? Are you passionate about advocating for equity-deserving groups and creating meaningful change on campus? Join the CCS AI Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Accessibility Committee (EDIAC)! The EDIAC is a standing committee of the CCS AI Board of Directors dedicated to ensuring that equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility are at the forefront of all CCS AI initiatives, policies, and services. This is a chance to use your voice, lived experience, and leadership to make a difference. What Youll Do: - Advise CCS AI on policies and initiatives that promote equity, inclusion, and accessibility - Review CCS AI services to ensure they reflect and support diverse student needs - Help identify and dismantle systemic barriers faced by equity-deserving students - Collaborate with Centennial College stakeholders on EDI initiatives - Support events and campaigns that foster cultural competency and anti-oppression Who Were Looking For: We are recruiting 3-5 Students-at-Large to join this committee. - 2SLGBTQIA+ students - Racialized students - Students with disabilities - International students - Women and gender-diverse students - Low-income students - Indigenous students - Or members of any other equity-deserving group No prior governance experience is required, just a passion for equity, inclusion, and making a positive impact. Training and mentorship will be provided. Honorarium: - Student-at-large members receive a $70/month honorarium - Committee officers (Chair, Vice-Chair, Secretary) receive $100/month (if student-at-large) - Honorariums are based on active participation and attendance Key Details: - Commitment: One meeting per month (plus additional initiatives as needed) - Term: May 1 April 30 (aligned with the CCS AI governance year) - First Meeting: Will include elections for Chair, Vice-Chair, and Secretary Deadline to Apply: March 23, 2026 This is your opportunity to be a changemaker, to ensure all voices are heard, and to shape a student union that truly reflects the diversity of our Centennial community.
