About the branch: The Professional and Corporate Affairs branch is located in the Regulatory and Consumer Services division in the Department of Community Services. The branch is responsible for administering a variety of legislation in three areas of focus: health professions, business professions and corporate and society registers. There are three units responsible for each area of focus. Each unit is responsible for registration/licensing requirements, quality assurance, policy development and maintenance, inquiries, supporting the complaint process, and supporting any legislative projects. The work is varied and incredibly important for protecting the public, by ensuring they have access to competent professionals and legal business entities. A mixture of systems are used by the branch from backend databases to online registration/licensing systems to national databases. About the job: Reporting to the Director of Professional and Corporate Affairs and supported by the Manager of Systems and Information Management, the Functional Analyst is responsible for providing expertise and front-end support for computerized programs. The Functional Analyst will capture, consolidate, and communicate information from Professional and Corporate Affairs to the management team, support day-to-day operations as the primary systems administrator and provide end user training and technical support. While this position is stationed within the Systems and Information Management Unit, it will be dedicated full time to the support of the Professional and Corporate Affairs branch. This position provides issue identification and resolution, while supporting testing and capturing documentation within the areas of support. It also is responsible for liaising with internal and external partners and advising on strategic design considerations. This role contributes to the reliability and availability of key systems for day-to-day operations of the branch.
