Position Overview STEM Collegiate is seeking a full-time Social Studies teacher to join our high school team. The successful candidate will teach a combination of Social Studies 10, 20, and/or 30, with specific assignments determined based on school needs and teacher strengths. This is a probationary contract commencing on August 20, 2026 and concluding on June 30, 2027. Teaching Responsibilities Teach high school social studies courses aligned with Alberta Programs of Study. Design and deliver engaging, outcomes-aligned instruction using effective assessment practices. Use formative and summative assessment to monitor student progress and inform instruction. Support diverse learners through differentiated instruction and responsive teaching practices. Foster a positive, structured, and inclusive classroom environment that promotes student engagement and academic growth. Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum planning, assessment design, and instructional improvement. Participate in ongoing curriculum development and refinement within STEM-focused programming. Qualifications Valid Alberta Teaching Certificate. Bachelor of Education degree or equivalent recognized by Alberta Education. Skills and Competencies Strong instructional practice grounded in curriculum outcomes and assessment for learning. Effective classroom management and relationship-building skills. High level of organization, flexibility, and ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities. Commitment to collaboration and professional growth. Willingness to engage in interdisciplinary planning and applied learning experiences. Comfort using educational technology and digital learning platforms.
