As a Finance & Accounting Co-op Student, you will be an integral part of a collaborative Finance team focused on delivering accurate, timely, and insightful financial support to our programs and services. Term: May to December Responsibilities Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing and payment tracking Support month-end and year-end close activities Prepare journal entries and assist with account reconciliations Help maintain general ledger accuracy and supporting documentation Assist with financial reporting and variance analysis Compile financial data and generate reports for internal stakeholders Maintain organized financial records in accordance with policies and procedures Provide administrative and project support to the Finance team Qualifications Enrolment in full-time post-secondary studies in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or Business Administration (with a focus in Accounting/Finance) Strong interest in financial reporting, accounting principles, and data analysis Basic understanding of accounting concepts (debits/credits, reconciliations, financial statements) Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data analysis skills considered an asset) Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage confidential financial information with discretion and professionalism Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively Strong organizational and time management skills Experience with accounting or ERP systems is considered an asset As part of our commitment to the health and safety of our patients, staff and community from COVID-19, subject to any accommodation required by applicable human rights legislation, Homewood Health Centre requires that all staff have received all required doses of a COVID-19 vaccine approved by Health Canada.
