Job Description

Overview Boucher Bros Lumber Ltd. is seeking a Logistics Coordinator for our Sawmill, located 5 km Northwest of Nampa, Alberta. This role is responsible for managing the flow of raw materials and finished lumber products to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and timely transportation. This role coordinates inbound log deliveries and outbound lumber shipments, maintains inventory accuracy, and works closely with production, procurement, trucking companies, and customers. The ideal candidate has strong organizational skills, knowledge of transportation regulations, and experience in industrial or wood products environments. Responsibilities Coordinate outbound Lumber deliveries based on production schedules and raw material requirements. Schedule and manage outbound shipments of lumber, chips, bark, and byproducts via truck or rail. Prepare and verify shipping documentation (bills of lading, scale tickets, manifests, export documents if applicable). Track shipments, resolve delays or discrepancies, and communicate status updates to internal teams and customers. Monitor raw material and finished goods inventory levels; support accurate inventory reporting and reconciliation. Collaborate with yard, production, sales, and procurement teams to ensure efficient material flow. Maintain relationships with carriers; monitor carrier performance. Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and company safety standards. Support continuous improvement initiatives. Provide general administrative support to management and staff. Answer and direct phone calls, emails, and other communications. Manage calendars, schedule meetings, and coordinate appointments. Process incoming and outgoing mail and deliveries. Coordinate travel arrangements and meeting logistics. Greet visitors and maintain a professional front office environment. Assist with special projects and other duties as necessary. Qualifications Effective communication, strong soft skills, and an optimistic attitude. Prior experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain experience; manufacturing or forestry industry experience preferred. Knowledge of freight documentation, transportation regulations, and carrier coordination. Experience with inventory/logistics software will be considered an asset. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and multitasking skills.
